Frequently asked questions

Straight answers.

No glossy brochure talk: real answers, with official sources so you can verify everything yourself.

Is solar really worth it in Quebec, with our winters?

Yes. Each installed kW produces an average of 1,200 kWh per year in Quebec (Hydro-Québec data) — cold weather actually improves panel efficiency, and snow slides off tilted panels. With the LogisVert subsidy, Hydro-Québec estimates the return on investment at about 10 to 12 years.

How does the $1,000/kW subsidy work?

It's Hydro-Québec's LogisVert program: $1,000 per installed kW, up to 40% of the purchase and installation cost. The panels must be new, purchased in Quebec, CSA-certified, and the grid connection must be approved by Hydro-Québec. We build the file and submit the application for you on logisvert.ca.

What happens to the electricity I don't use?

With Hydro-Québec's net metering, your surplus becomes kWh credits on your bill. You stay connected to the grid: solar lowers your bill, and the grid takes over whenever needed.

Who does the installation?

Our team, together with partner master electricians, under an RBQ licence. It's mandatory: the Hydro-Québec connection application must be completed by a master electrician — and it's also a condition of the subsidy.

How long does it take?

From signing to commissioning, expect anywhere from a few weeks to a few months depending on your municipality (permits) and Hydro-Québec's connection timelines. We manage every step and keep you informed.
